About

Jason Cook is a Franco-American visual artist, specialized in the field of electronic and digital fine arts. He creates artworks that explore the boundaries of interaction between humans and technology, incorporating electronic, mechanical, and computing elements. His often surreal approach to technology as a medium of creative expression imparts an emotional and whimsical quality to his works. Through his art, he explores our relationship with technology, particularly the subconscious dynamics between human and machine.

Since 2006, after his studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he has traveled and worked with numerous artists using new technologies as a means of expression in New Orleans and Chicago (US), Montreal (Canada), Normandy, the Pyrenees, Provence, and Paris (France). His main motivation in his project choices, whether independent or collaborative, is based on the potential of physical movement, kinetic behaviors, and animation in general.

Since 2011, he has worked with numerous institutions in France, including schools of fine art and both cultural and private organizations. In these settings, he designs and leads workshops and studios focused on digital creation. These programs emphasize electronics, robotics, and programming, offering high-quality training at the intersection of art, technology, and design. The activities typically involve research, prototyping, development, and production — frequently in collaboration with engineers and international artists.

After years of collaborative projects and international group exhibitions, he established his own studio in Montpellier in 2022. With a full body of solo work now underway, he began exhibiting independently since 2024.
