En attendant… is a work inspired by boredom and impatience. Departing from the refined, technically sophisticated aesthetic that often characterizes my practice, the work embraces a more rudimentary approach, drawing on traditional animatronic techniques and material experimentation.

The repetitive gesture of fingers drumming on a table evokes a familiar expression of dwindling patience. The pinkish-red fingernails contribute to the construction of a feminine persona: seemingly refined and composed, yet sharp enough to suggest that her patience has limits.

Initially titled En attendant moco, the work's original name referenced Samuel Beckett's En attendant Godot, evoking a suspended state of waiting in relation to MO.CO., Montpellier's contemporary art institution. The work emerged from a feeling of alienation and inertia experienced by artists positioned outside established cultural networks. While rooted in this institutional context, it ultimately addresses a broader condition shared by artists navigating complex cultural landscapes, often finding themselves in a state of prolonged waiting.
