Epiphany is a work resulting from a stream-of-consciousness approach. The method of the Exquisite Corps practiced by the Surrealists is employed using materials found in the studio to create a sort of collage without entirely knowing what would be the result. After finding a balanced configuration of multiple pieces and techniques, I believe to understand what I have managed to unconsciously express in this work. I call it “Epiphany” for this reason.

The work is an animated triptych: a display on the left side, a beehive window in the center, a magnified display on the right side. In a constant loop, a man is running on the first screen. The beehive pattern in the center is illuminated. At the end we find multiple insects displayed under a magnifying glass. The process gradually speeds up. Both the man and the insects eventually disappear from each screen. A flower blossoms as the final result. The man becomes a skeleton. The cycle then recommences.

Simply put, the full process speaks about the cycle of creation, life and death.
