Yolo Bolo is a piece inspired by the artist Laurent Bolognini, my mentor during my time living in Paris. Drawing on the mechanical fabrication techniques he taught me, I decided to delve into programming microPython on an ESP32 micro-controller to create a design reminiscent of his sculptural style. The machine features multiple lights spinning on motor axes, producing spirographic patterns through persistence of vision. Wirelessly controlled via a custom interface on a tablet or computer, the work was presented at the grand opening of the School of Fine Arts in the Pyrenees (FR) in the fall of 2019.
